    Life has taken me through many twists, turns and shifts during which my creative passion has ebbed and flowed but never faded. The last 5 years has seen my definitive return to art.     I am a UK based artist with many years experience in the Fine Art field. My work in abstract mixed-media is driven by an academic foundation that includes a comprehensive range of qualifications from a DipHe to an MA, MPhil and Fellowship. This rigorous training informs my practice which bridges the realms of art, forensic investigation and environmental commentary.

    I mostly paint, draw and print. While usually figurative my subjects are rarely quite human. I'm also interested in landscape that bears the oft-troubling traces of human presence. These are dark times. I feel perpetually shocked that we have ended up here. I try to explore this in my work. I committed to making art seriously late in life. Late enough to do it frivolously.

    My work is an emotional response to the coastal landscape and not a literal interpretation of what I see. The compositions that I develop are not particularly concerned with the specifics of place, but more the elemental relationship between land, sky and sea. The freedom and spontaneity of mark making and gestural paint application allow me to express a more personal image of the environment.

    Who am I? A question I will always struggle with. I have two sides- my feminine and my masculine . My routes of action films and sci-fi has merged with my love for glamour, pop culture, costume and character. The questioning of identity and gender within myself and society has led way to a desire to explore this and other social topics through my work. Society is my biggest inspiration.
