    Pink and grAy (Sylvia Causer and Andrea Freeman) are a Live Art/Performance Art Duo based in the North of England. We met whilst studying for M.A. Fine Art at Sheffield Hallam University and discovered that we hold shared ideas and concerns. We have worked together professionally since 2014, soon producing a manifesto which informs all of our work.

    Currently, I am primarily interested in exploring human/nature discourses through a narrative practice that engages with objects (natural and human-made), representation, and employing a range of processes and means of making.     London born artist of Polish descent, with a long standing interest in creating objects which play with stereotypical gender and societal roles. Studied sculpture at Camberwell College of Art and Sir John Cass encouraged the togetherness of sculpture and performance. Combining motherhood with artistry, living room with art studio.

    Vivid, gestural oil paintings reveal a fascination with emotional states, with the help of unwitting accomplices captured from feature film and TV- their surfaces hint at depths of emotion below. Forever given pause, they comment on emotional entanglement with the artificial as a substitute – or perhaps immunisation against- the fluctuating feelings of everyday life.

    I specialise in watercolour and acrylic paintings and have been painting as long as I can remember. It's my love and passion. I love to celebrate the beauty in the natural world around us! I find myself drawn to the sea and so many of my paintings focus on the ocean, and also the moon which controls our powerful seas.
