Lent 2026: God's Presence
Deadline: 11/07/2025Sam Rogers
Paid opportunity
Karis Worship is commissioning original artwork to inspire worshipers in their Lenten journeys and serve as a centerpiece for our Lenten worship resource guide. This art piece complements our thematic focus for the season of Lent: God's presence. The primary textual companion for this season is Psalm 51, with its profound themes of renewal, restoration, and the abiding presence of God even in our brokenness. While the artwork should appeal intergenerationally, special consideration should be given to engaging children ages 5-12, whether that be through imagery, characters, colour, or form.
Theme & Focus
Season Focus: God's Presence
This art piece complements our thematic focus for the season of Lent, in which we want to center on God's presence. The primary textual companion for this season is Psalm 51, with its profound themes of renewal, restoration, and the abiding presence of God even in our brokenness.
Guiding Reflection Questions
- How does God's presence manifest during our Lenten journey?
- What does it look like to experience God's nearness in all seasons of life?
- How might we visualize the call "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me"?
- How does awareness of God's presence transform and inform our understanding of oneself and one's faith?
Audience Considerations
While the artwork should appeal intergenerationally, special consideration should be given to engaging children ages 5-12, whether that be through imagery, characters, color, or form. The piece should be accessible and meaningful across age groups, serving families as they journey through Lent together.
