Grace's main bodies of work focus on heritage and personal experiences in places of importance, as well as exploring other’s relationships with place, nature and folklore. She works slowly, using film where possible. Grace also enjoys exploring the importance of nature, especially within the context of walking through British landscapes. Nature also lends itself to her other favourite subject – folklore and its practices. Britain is rich in folklore practices, rituals, dances and song, often giving us a platform to experience the natural seasons and drawing attention to the importance of experiencing joy in the small things, in the act of being alive. As a photographer Grace stands in between a documentary style and a more interpretive approach to hopefully create work which is thought provoking but also beautiful, highlighting the relationship between the landscape and the photographer, the camera and the dancer, or the subject and their sense of place.
